Right now my current framework for life is a modified Candyland meets Final Fantasy. We all know the Candyland game ends in the end - when we reach the end of the fixed road. At the very start of the game, we agree that there is an ending of basically end-of-game and successfully conceptualize the ending. (It's basically what we never focus on while playing the game.) As we play Candyland, like in Final Fantasy we must take care of our HP - healthy diet and 1hr exercise per day. Rule numero uno of Final Fantasy: don't let your HP drop! Occasionally, we will land on special squares on Candyland and instead of bumping you forward or back, these act as "missions." These "missions" coincide with your values - what do you want to accomplish in life? If you're a nurturer, it' supporting x, y, z through various trials, raising a kid, taking care of animals at the shelter, etc. If you're silent listening to a song but chime in on "I wanna kill," you might want to have entrepreneurial goals and exercise in the gym so that your biceps match your desire to compete against others. Others planning to acquiesce to all levels of society might be interested in a job promotion and a Tesla. With all our various "happy missions," HP replenishing, and undeterrable crawl forward down the track, we have a model for our lives and how to live our lives.
Remember, the end is out of sight out of mind as we our enwrapped in the game. It is pinpointed as inevitable and hidden away as a largely irrelevant station - not even part of the game!
Cloud and other Final Fantasy characters live life like there is no death and live totally in the present!
