Somebody gave me this hilarity podcasts list because I was a fan of Joe Rogan, which made some say, "Ewwww, explore more."
I feel like I will never gain enough podcast experience to rewrite this list or understand this list. Then again, Joe Rogan's podcasts are 3 hours long.
Here Comes the Guillotine: Three Scottish comedians chatting casually. I'm a huge fan of Frankie Boyle in particular; he's notorious around here for having pretty (sometimes offensively) dark humor, but I find his whole vibe kinda cozy. One host is a woman comedian!
Improv 4 Humans: Pure improv - a variety of guests, drifting in and out of improv scenes based on current events and things that come up in conversation. The host is one of the founders of Upright Citizens Brigade, alongside the likes of Amy Poehler.
Off Book: Very upbeat, sometimes a bit cloyingly so, but impressive as hell. Every episode is a unique improvised musical, complete with a backing band. It's insane how good they are at it. It's very funny when their guests aren't confident singers too. One of the hosts is a woman comedian!
Hollywood Handbook: I have no idea if you'll like this, I'm just throwing it in because it's probably my favorite. Two dudes and guests, and a lot of the humor ranges from dry nonsense to creating very tense and awkward dynamics with the guests. I love it.
Office Hours: Tim Heidecker's show! It's also a youtube thing if you like video. It's a call-in radio show style thing, with comedians and musical guests. If you like his whole shtick you'll like this (Incidentally, have you seen his youtube series On Cinema? I could see you liking that). If you like the format but prefer the host and content to be more about music and pop culture and less in the comedy world, The Best Show with Tom Scharpling is pretty fun too.
The Neighbhorhood Listen: More improvised comedy! The hosts, Paul F Tompkins and Nicole Parker (a woman comedian who I think was on madtv or something), play characters and interview guests, the content inspired by the Nextdoor app and the crazy stuff people post about their neighborhoods IRL. As the show has gone on, they've built a massive amount of lore about their fake town and lives. It's very funny.
Wait Wait Don't Tell Me: The NPR news quiz! Just a weekly game show with a panel of comedians answering questions about the week in news. Very fun and digestible; I do always feel like I know loads about what's happening in the world when I listen.
